3 Years of Resource Recovery

Viridian is celebrating three years of our food recycling service helping businesses to prevent food loss by diverting valuable resources from landfill.

Working with food manufacturing and retail businesses we use our proprietary technology to collect and transform food by-product materials into specific, highly nutritious insect protein ingredients for the pet food industry.

Due to the weight of these food organic materials, traditional collection and processing methods are costly for businesses. What's more, a single standard wheelie bin is responsible for 100-200kg of greenhouse gas emissions if sent to landfill.

Viridian is solving both these problems for our customers by reducing disposal costs and environmental impacts, directly helping to drive our nation’s goal of halving food loss by 2030

One of our partners, Bakers Delight, is Australia’s largest bakery franchise with over 700 stores. Our collection services allow franchisees to eliminate product wastage from their end-of-day process, diverting valuable resources from landfill.

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our collection service with support from our partners in the logistics and food industries helping to decarbonise Australia’s food production economy.

This increased capacity means we will be supplying more protein products to our customers in the pet food sector as we continue to develop Australia’s insect protein industry.

A practical solution with meaningful outcomes.
